Starlet Lindsay Lohan's parents were back in Family Court Tuesday to argue about how much Michael Lohan owes his ex-wife, Dina, in child support payments for their two minor children.
The conference before a magistrate, which Michael Lohan later called amicable, took place in Family Court in Westbury and was not open to the public.
Dina Lohan would not give an exact amount, but estimated that her ex-husband owes her nearly a year's worth of child support for their two minor children, Ali, 16, and Cody, 13.
"I feel that any parent with children should support them without having to go to court to fight for money," Dina Lohan, 47, said outside court.
She was looking forward to resolving the family issues, she said.
"No one wants a war. I don't want to be here more than anyone else in this building," she said, gesturing at the Family Court. "It's a very sad place."
Michael Lohan would not comment on whether or how much back child support he owes his ex-wife, but vowed to do his part to settle the issue.
"These are my kids, and Dina's their mother," he said. "If I have to toe the line to support them, I will. . . . It's not about money. It's about doing the right thing."
He said his last job was working as a spokesman for a company that makes an electronic cigarette device to help people stop smoking. The company owes him money for his work, he said.
The two are due back in court March 24 in front of Magistrate Judge Diane M. Dwyer.
