Two vehicles striking undergrade bridges in Nassau County caused delays on the Long Island Rail Road during Wednesday’s morning rush hour.

A spokeswoman for the rail service said delays were imminent after one vehicle hit an undergrade bridge west of the Mineola station and another did the same east of the Plandome station.

Meredith Daniels of the LIRR said two vehicles “didn’t clear the overpass, which is our undergrade bridge. It happened around the same time, about 9:20 a.m.”

Early indications are there were no injuries, but Daniels said she did not immediately have more information.

“It’s just going to cause delays.”

The LIRR began reporting delays in emails just before 9:30 a.m.; affected branches included the Port Washington, Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma, Hempstead, Oyster Bay and City Terminal Zone branches.
