One train was canceled and six others delayed early Thursday because of a broken rail between Seaford and Massapequa, the Long Island Rail Road said.
Spokesman Aaron Donovan said delays on the commuter service ranged between 10 and 15 minutes, and the rail on an eastbound portion of track was temporarily repaired at 8:04 a.m.
There was some residual congestion after the repair, he said.
Customers were notified about the broken rail at about 5 a.m., according to the LIRR.
"The situation is resolved," Donovan said just after 9 a.m. "By and large, everything is back to normal."
