A person has been struck by a Long Island Rail Road train near Westbury station, according to Metropolitan Transit Authority Police.

A pedestrian was struck on the westbound track near the station, MTA Police Officer Sam Thomas told Newsday. An investigation is ongoing, and Thomas could not confirm the condition of the person struck by the train.

There are 20- to 30-minute delays on the LIRR's Ronkonkoma and Port Jefferson branches due to police activity at Westbury, according to a notice posted on the MTA’s website at 3:25 p.m.

Thomas said two of the three tracks at the station have been blocked because of the incident, requiring both east and westbound trains to use one track near the station.
