6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Bayville Intermediate and Ann MacArthur Primary schools and at Brookville Reformed Church.

THE BUDGET

The district proposes a $81,316,154 budget for 2015-16, a 1.89 percent increase from the current $79,807,697. The local tax levy would increase 1.72 percent, from $76,058,197 to $77,366,654.

This increase is within the state's tax-cap limit of 1.84 percent, so a simple majority vote will be required to approve the budget. The district said it could not provide estimates for school taxes on the average single-family home because equalization rates have not been set and tax rates could not be calculated.The proposed budget allows for estimated teacher salaries and benefits that are under negotiation. It does not call for any reductions in teachers or other staff.

Voters will decide two ballot propositions. One seeks approval to spend $1.075 million from the capital reserve fund to continue a partial roof replacement at Locust Valley Middle School/High School and at the district's bus garage, as well as pay for replacement of boilers at Bayville Primary School.

The other proposition asks voters to create a new capital reserve fund of $5 million for future construction and/or replacement of facilities and property districtwide. Approval of the propositions would not have an immediate effect on the tax rate, the district said.

THE CANDIDATES

Incumbent Erika Bruno and newcomer Brian Nolan are running unopposed for two at-large seats. Incumbent Suzanne Sgueglia is not seeking re-election. Terms are three years.
