Long Beach has eased its curfew, which will now run from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., city officials said Friday.

The curfew had started at 6 p.m. to protect residents and businesses, and Long Beach police launched extra patrols to make sure people were off the streets.

Long Beach was one of the areas hardest-hit by superstorm Sandy, with many homes flooded and still without power.
