Mary Traynor, 77, dies days after being struck by truck in Long Beach, police say

A 77-year-old Long Beach woman died of the injuries suffered when she was struck by a pickup truck on Monday morning in Long Beach, Nassau County police said Thursday.
A hospital physician pronounced Mary Traynor dead, police said in a news release on Thursday. Police could not immediately clarify when she died.
A 49-year-old man was driving a 2020 Chevy Silverado east on East Chester Street and turned right onto Pacific Boulevard at 10:26 a.m. when, police said, he struck the pedestrian, identified on Thursday as Traynor. She was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
The driver, who was not identified, remained at the scene, and an investigation continues.
