Long Beach waitress wins $21.5M Lotto
While the rest of us suffer through an insufferable winter, at least one woman doesn't see it that way: That's because she won $21.5 million from the New York State Lottery.
A 40-year-old waitress from Long Beach will claim her prize at a Thursday news conference at the Garden City Hotel, where her identity will be revealed. Officials said she won the Lotto drawing Jan. 5 with a ticket purchased in Long Beach.
Also announced will be a Mineola man who won $1 million on a $500,000,000 Extravaganza scratch-off ticket.
Officials said other recent winners from Queens and the Bronx also will receive their winning award checks Thursday from Yolanda Vega.
