Queens man critical
after being found in pool
A Queens man was in critical condition after he was pulled from the bottom of a backyard pool in Dix Hills early Sunday, Suffolk police said.
Dale Ahn, 21, had been at a party on Farmview Drive when he was found at the bottom of the pool by two other guests about 12:40 a.m., police said.
The two people pulled Ahn from the water.
Ahn suffered a fractured neck and was taken by Dix Hills Rescue to Huntington Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Police ID man killed
in hit-and-run crash
Suffolk police identified a pedestrian who was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Lake Grove early Sunday as Brian T. Bianchi.
Bianchi, 49, of Lake Grove, had been standing in the turn lane of Middle Country Road at Hawkins Avenue about 1:40 a.m. when an unknown vehicle struck him, then fled.
Bianchi was pronounced dead at the scene by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office.

Driver killed after vehicle
hits tree late Saturday night
The driver of a 2006 Mercedes-Benz died after the vehicle hit a tree in Manhasset late Saturday night, Nassau police said.
The driver, who police did not identify by name or gender, was traveling on Searingtown Road about 11:45 p.m. when the car left the roadway and struck a tree near Dianas Trail north of Christopher Morley County Park.
East Quogue man held
on bank robbery charge
An East Quogue man was arrested Saturday on a charge he robbed a Riverhead bank branch, Riverhead Town police said.
Caleb Christiansen, 22, is accused of robbing a Capital One branch Friday on County Route 58 in Riverhead and taking an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.
Christiansen was arrested shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday on County Route 39 in Southampton.
BABYLONEast Meadow man found
dead beneath LIRR train platform
Railroad police were investigating how a man struck and killed early Saturday at the Babylon station got onto the train tracks, authorities said.
The 24-year-old East Meadow man was found after a passenger told authorities he thought he saw a man on the tracks.
Police checking out the report found the dead man at about 3 a.m. beneath the platform.
"We don't know how he got down there," said Long Island Rail Road spokeswoman Marjorie Anders.
