LAKEVIEW / Three accused in robbery of pizza delivery man

They offered to buy the pizza for $100 cash.

But it was just pretense, Nassau County police said. The real goal was to rob the delivery man.

Three men stole cash and the pizza -- leaving behind a counterfeit $100 bill -- during the robbery of a 41-year-old delivery man Wednesday at 12:25 a.m. in Lakeview, according to police.

Police said the delivery man was headed to a home on Dekoven Street when he was approached by a man wearing glasses who offered him $100 for the pie. The delivery man said he didn't have change, police said. Moments later, two more men appeared, one "brandishing a handgun," and they demanded cash, police said.

Police said one of the men punched the victim in the face. The trio then stole cash and the pizza and ran off.

ROSLYN / Hicksville man arrested in fraud to buy Porsche

Police said a Hicksville man applied for a bank loan using fraudulent W-2 forms, was issued a loan for $100,000 and used the money to purchase a Porsche GT3 from Porsche of Roslyn.

William J. Mure, 30, of Pierce Street, was arrested Tuesday and charged with second-degree grand larceny and three counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument, Nassau County police said yesterday.

Police said Mure went to M&T Bank in Jericho last Friday and applied for the loan using fraudulent W-2 forms.

After he was issued a $100,000 check, he went to the Porsche dealership on Mineola Avenue and purchased the 2010 GT3.

Police said Mure picked up the car Monday, but after he'd left, the bank notified the dealer it had stopped payment on the check.

Police said Mure returned to the dealership Tuesday to pick up the title paperwork for the car, where he was arrested. The vehicle was returned to the dealer.
