Loop Parkway Bridge closed for repairs
The Loop Parkway Bridge, which spans the Long Beach Thoroughfare and provides access to Lido Beach, Point Lookout and the eastern end of Long Beach, is closed to traffic until Wednesday, the state Department of Transportation said Friday.
The bridge is being repaired, the NYSDOT said. The bridge was closed Friday at 10 a.m.
Access to Long Beach, Lido Beach and Point Lookout will be limited to the Long Beach Bridge and the Atlantic Beach Bridge. Officials have warned commuters to allow for extra travel time because of delays expected during the closure. The Loop Parkway and the bridge are expected to remain closed until Wednesday at 7 a.m., officials said.
