Malverne woman found dead after house fire

A woman was found dead in her home in Malverne after a fire Thursday, officials said.
Malverne police and firefighters found the body of Nancy Mastrangelo, 62, in a first-floor bathroom of her Linden Street house, Malverne Fire Chief Dan Morgan said.
Malverne emergency medical technicians could not revive her, Morgan said. She was pronounced dead about 8 p.m.
About 50 firefighters from the Malverne and Lynbrook departments were able to confine the fire to the bathroom, said Dave Gildea, a spokesman for the fire department. They were able to bring the blaze under control within five minutes of the 7:32 p.m. alarm, Gildea said.
Police and fire officials said they are investigating the fire and how Mastrangelo died, but the fire is not considered suspicious, said Vincent McManus, a spokesman for the Nassau County fire marshal's office.
