A 19-year-old man was shot in the right thigh and left calf Sunday morning after approaching a large crowd in Uniondale, Nassau police said.

The victim, who police did not identify, was treated at a nearby hospital for nonlife threatening injuries. No arrests were made.

The man was walking near 723 Longman Place when he saw a large crowd. As he approached, someone screamed that someone else had a gun. The victim turned and began to run away.

Shots were fired, police said. Police had no description of any suspects.
