An elderly Queens man was arrested on Saturday after Nassau police said they found him selling guns from the front seat of his car in Valley Stream.

Police said they received word from witnesses that Charles Czupia, 88, of Richmond Hill, was selling guns at the flea market at 759 W. Sunrise Hwy. without a permit.

When police arrived, they said they found Czupia opening a box on the front passenger seat of his car that contained a semiautomatic P38, a Smith & Wesson .38-caliber revolver and an Arminius .32-caliber revolver, as well as a price list written on cardboard.

Czupia was arrested and charged with first-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree attempted sale of a firearm. At his arraignment on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead, Czupia was ordered held on $15,000 bond or $7,500 cash bail. He is due back in court in Mineola on Wednesday.
