A Far Rockaway man faces unlawful imprisonment and child endangerment charges after he took a 7-year-old girl from the Chabad of the Five Towns in Cedarhurst, Nassau County police said.

Yan Kossa, 39, was worshipping Saturday at the Chabad on Maple Avenue when he approached the girl, asking if she wanted to come outside with him, police said.

After leading the girl outside and putting her into his car parked down the street, Kossa returned to the Chabad, police said, and told the girl's father of his action.

The girl was found safe inside the vehicle, police said.

At his arraignment Sunday at First District Court, Hempstead, Kossa was ordered held on $10,000 bail or bond, according to online court records.
