Man arrested for public lewdness
A South Farmingdale man was arrested Friday on a charge of public lewdness after allegedly exposing himself to a woman praying inside a Nassau County church, Nassau County police said.
Leroy Jamison 29, of 74 Adams St., entered Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Carmans Road in Massapequa Park at about 1 p.m. Thursday and exposed himself to a 64-year-old woman who was kneeling in prayer, police said.
Jamison is scheduled to be arraigned on the charge Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.
A news release from Nassau County police said Seventh Squad detectives found Jamison with the help of First Precinct officers from the Suffolk County Police Department.
Jamison rode off on a bicycle after the woman screamed, police said. No injuries were reported.
