A Freeport man bothering customers of a Roosevelt meat market Sunday stabbed a store employee who tried to intercede, Nassau County police said.

Anthony J. Bradley, 60, is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on a charge of first-degree assault at First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said Bradley stabbed the employee, a man, 49, in the parking lot of a Western Beef market at 332 Nassau Rd. at about 8:45 p.m. Sunday.

The victim was in the lot when he saw Bradley "bothering customers," First Squad detectives said.

When approached by the victim, Bradley "began to swing at him and then stabbed the victim two times with a sharp object," police said.

Other employees came to the victim's aid as Bradley fled on a bicycle, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, and detectives said they found and arrested Bradley on Monday without incident in Roosevelt.
