A Queens Village man has been charged with killing one of two people shot Monday evening in North Valley Stream, Nassau County police said.

But, citing the ongoing investigation, police declined to detail the shootings -- or explain how they are related.

Joshua Geddes, 23, of 225-16 109th Ave., was charged with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man who was found lying in the roadway on Charles Street at 5:57 p.m. Monday, police said.

That victim, discovered by police responding to a 911 call, was pronounced dead at a hospital at 6:40 p.m.

Police have not released the identity of the victim.

Police said a second man, identified only as a 22-year-old, was found shot in the abdomen about a half-mile away on Linden Boulevard. He was taken to a hospital, and police said he remained in guarded condition Tuesday.

Police did not say what led to the arrest of Geddes, who was arraigned Tuesday and held without bail.
