A Freeport man was arrested and charged with stealing a home movie projector valued at more than $3,000 from a Westbury company where he worked, Nassau police said.

Andre Rodriguez, 42, of 5 Graffing Place, Freeport, was charged with fourth degree grand larceny.

Rodriguez took a JVC home cinema projector, model DLA-RS45, from the Avad home electronics system company on Shames Drive, police said, and attempted to sell it over the Internet.

A company inventory revealed that the equipment was missing, police said, and it was found offered for sale on the website Tradingpost.com.

Rodriguez, released on an appearance ticket, was to appear next in First District Court, Hempstead, on Jan. 27.
