Man arrested in Williston Park burglary
A Mineola man faces burglary charges after being caught Wednesday with coins and jewelry that were missing from a Williston Park home, Nassau County police said.
A plainclothes Special Operations officer saw Charles R. Wilson, 30, of 142 Evelyn Rd., get on a motorbike that was concealed behind hedges on Broad Street in Williston Park at about 12:10 p.m., police said.
As Wilson drove south on Broad Street, the officer stopped him, police said. Wilson had jewelry and coins on him, police said, and Third Precinct officers who canvassed the area found that the items had been taken from a home on Dartmouth Street.
Wilson is charged with second-degree burglary and is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
