Man arrested on stolen property charge

Nassau police have arrested a Valley Stream man and charged him with criminal possession of stolen property.

Peter Cassaberry, 26, had previously been arrested with two male minors in connection with a string of burglaries in Valley Stream from Aug. 11 to Dec. 21, police said. Most were residential burglaries and involved jewelry theft, police said.

As part of the investigation into those robberies, police learned that the minors had turned over stolen property to Cassaberry. He was arrested around 4 p.m. Saturday without incident, police said. In addition to criminal possession of stolen property, police said they also charged Cassaberry with conspiracy and criminal solicitation.

Cassaberry was being held in jail Sunday afternoon on $10,000 bond or $5,000 cash.
