Man assaulted on East Meadow street

A man was taken to the hospital after he was punched in the face by another man as he stood on a sidewalk in East Meadow on Friday, Nassau police said.

The 34-year-old victim was standing in front of 2571 Hempstead Tpke. at 7:15 p.m. when a man approached him, punched him in the face, then fled in a dark BMW sedan, police said.

The victim had a broken nose and a bruise on his left eye, and was taken to Nassau University Medical Center for treatment, police said.
