Man assaulted on street in New Cassel

Third Squad detectives are investigating the assault of a man in New Cassel early Thursday, Nassau County police said.

The victim, 28, was walking near 751 Old Country Rd. at about 5:45 a.m. when another man approached him and struck him in the eye with a bottle, police said.

Police did not have any more information on the condition of the victim, a spokesman said.
