Police: Man attacked by would-be robbers on Massapequa street
A 27-year-old man was hospitalized with head and facial injuries after police said he was attacked and robbed by two male suspects on a street Wednesday in Massapequa.
The robbery took place on Carman Mill Road near Madison Street at 6:50 p.m.
Nassau County police said the suspects, believed to be in their late teens or early 20s, both wore black clothing -- one, wearing a gray skull cap.
Both had thin builds, according to police.
Police said the two jumped the victim, punching him and kicking him, demanding he turn over everything in his pockets. The two fled without any proceeds, police said.
Police said the victim suffered "a large laceration" to the back of his head as well as facial contusions. He was taken to a hospital by Nassau police ambulance.
Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
