Man attacked, robbed in Inwood
A 23-year-old man walking to his home along Mott Avenue in Inwood was attacked, knocked unconscious and robbed early Sunday morning, Nassau County police said.
The victim, whose identity was not released, was on Mott between Lawrence Avenue and Clinton Avenue at about 1 a.m. when he was approached by two "unknown subjects" who punched him two times in the face, knocking him to the ground and knocking him out, police said. The attackers then stole the victim's wallet -- taking $25 in cash and his Blackberry cell phone, police said.
Police said the victim went to the hospital later in the day and was treated for a fractured jaw. He then reported the robbery to police, but was unable to furnish a description of his assailants, police said.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery and attack to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
