Man beaten, robbed of gold chain in Bethpage, police say
A man was beaten and robbed of his gold chain necklace while walking Saturday night in Bethpage, Nassau County police said.
The 26-year-old man said two men approached him about 11:15 p.m. while he was walking on South Oyster Bay Road near Stewart Avenue, police said Sunday.
Both men began punching the victim in the head and face, ripping a gold chain from his neck.
The two assailants, described as between 17 and 25, ran away with the gold necklace, according to a Nassau County police statement.
The victim got a ride to a nearby hospital, where he notified police. He was treated for cuts to his face and head.
Police said anyone with information could call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477.
