A man walking along a street in Westbury was beaten and robbed by a group of three males Thursday, police said.

The 18-year-old, whose identity was not released, refused medical attention at the scene.

Nassau County police said the assault and robbery took place on Powells Lane at 6 p.m. The victim was walking on Powells near Rockland Street when the trio of attackers, all described as being in their late teens or early 20s, jumped him, knocked him to the ground -- and struck him in the head and face, stealing his cellphone.

One suspect wore a white jacket, while another wore a black jacket or sweatshirt. A third wore a red hooded sweatshirt.

Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
