Man charged in Levittown home burglary
A West Babylon man was arrested Monday night, charged with attacking a man and woman inside their Levittown home late Sunday afternoon, then stealing a wallet and pocketbook at knifepoint.
Christ is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
Police said Christ, brandishing "a large knife," forced his way into the home on Thrush Lane in Levittown at about 5 p.m. Sunday, then attacked a 30-year-old woman inside the home -- punching her "several times in the head and face" while pointing the knife at her.
Christ then pointed the knife at a 31-year-old man inside the home, as he took the man's wallet and the woman's pocketbook, police said.
Police said Christ "was known to the victims," but declined to characterize the nature of any relationship.
