Man charged in machete killing in Hempstead, cops say

A man in his 40s was charged with homicide after killing another man with a machete on Friday, Hempstead Village police said.

The killing happened in front of a house on Albemarle Avenue, said Lt. James Hayman. Police responded at 5:28 p.m. to the scene in a residential neighborhood.

"There was some kind of disturbance or dispute," Haman said. "It is still being investigated."

The victim was taken to Nassau University Medical Center and pronounced dead, he said.
