A New Jersey man is charged with grabbing an iPhone from a woman sitting on a bench in Manhasset, Nassau County police said.

Police said the victim, 37, was sitting on a bench using her phone near the corner of Manhasset Avenue and Memorial Place at 9:35 p.m. Tuesday.

Andre N. Griffin, 18, of North 18th Street in East Orange, N.J., came up behind her, grabbed the phone and fled north on Plandome Road, police said.

Griffin was arrested and charged with third-degree robbery, police said. He was scheduled for arraignment Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
