A Seaford man was arrested Thursday in an incident last month in which a store manager found him trying to pry open a safe, Nassau County police said.

Michael Hance, 32, of New York Avenue, was found inside the Dairy Barn on Jerusalem Avenue in Seaford by a manager who arrived at 5 a.m. Hance was using a crow bar to force open a safe before he fled.

Police found Hance on Thursday and arrested him without incident. He was charged with third-degree burglary. He was arraigned Friday in First District Court in Hempstead and is being held at Nassau County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail.
