Man conscious after jump from Roslyn Viaduct
A man jumped from the Roslyn Viaduct in Roslyn just before noon Tuesday, but survived after landing in some weeds, police said.
The condition of the man was not immediately known.
Nassau County police said the man was conscious -- and had been taken to a hospital for emergency treatment.
The identity of the man was not known. Police said he jumped from the southeast side of the viaduct, but it was not clear how high the section was from above the ground.
About 1 p.m., one eastbound lane of the viaduct was closed for a police investigation.
The road was re-opened just before the afternoon rush hour.
