A Floral Park man was killed Tuesday after his car crashed into a building in New Hyde Park, Nassau County police said.

Police identified the victim as Michael P. Dunne, 41. He was driving a Toyota Corolla and crashed into a building just before the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and South 18th Street, police said.

Dunne's westbound car crossed the double yellow lines into the eastbound lane about 8:45 a.m., police said, and struck the building on the south side of the road.

Southbound New Hyde Park Road was closed initially at Jericho, as was northbound Hoffman Road, police said, and eastbound Jericho was closed at New Hyde Park Road, as was westbound Jericho at Leonard Boulevard.

Those roads were reopened at 12:15 p.m., Nassau police said.
