Man duct-taped in Massapequa robbery
Police are searching for a gunman who duct-taped a man to his chair in a furniture store robbery Thursday on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa.
The robbery took place at about 4:10 p.m. at Danny's Furniture Store, Nassau County police said.
They said the robber, armed with a black handgun, "ordered the male victim, 43, to sit in his desk chair," then used duct tape to restrain him. The robber took the man's wallet and duct-taped the victim's mouth before fleeing.
The victim freed himself and called 911.
Police said the victim was not injured. The suspect is described as 6 feet tall and 200 pounds, clean-shaven and wearing a dark baseball hat, dark-gray sweatshirt and jeans.
Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
