A pedestrian was struck -- first by a car and then two other vehicles -- and killed crossing Woodbury Road in Woodbury Thursday, Nassau County police said.

Police said the victim, a man, 39, was hit at about 7:49 p.m. as he crossed the roadway east to west.

First, he was hit by a 2013 Mercedes-Benz that was driving northbound; the impact sent the man into the southbound lane, where he was hit by a Chevrolet van and another vehicle, police said.

The drivers, including a man, 65, who was driving the Mercedes, remained at the scene. Police said no charges are expected at this time.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family.
