Man hit by train in Valley Stream, officials say
A man was hit by a Long Island Rail Road train in Valley Stream early Thursday morning but is expected to survive, authorities said.
Nassau County and MTA police responded to Gibson Boulevard, just past the Gibson train station, at 1:10 a.m. The pedestrian on the tracks was not at a grade crossing and the incident was not considered criminal in nature, authorities said.
The man was hospitalized for his injuries, police said.
