A Roosevelt man tracked down at his brother's Florida apartment was remanded to jail Friday after being arraigned on the fatal shooting of a former roommate, Nassau police said.

Jonathan D. Mack, 19, was brought back to Long Island and arraigned on second-degree murder charges in the June 30 fatal shooting of Isaac Andrews, 34, outside a Uniondale church.

A Crime Stoppers tip led police to Bradenton, Fla., where Mack had been hiding for about three weeks in the apartment of his brother, Kelvin Mack, said homicide Det. Sgt. Stephen Fitzpatrick.

With the help of the U.S. Marshal's office and Manatee County sheriffs, Nassau detectives on Thursday arrested Mack, who surrendered without a fight, police said.

On June 30 by Hill Street, Mack shot Andrews in the chest, police said, and Andrews' girlfriend drove the victim to Nassau University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The shooting happened as about 70 people attended service at the Tabernacle of Joy Church, then came out to a cordoned-off crime scene.

Mack and Andrews had once shared a house, police said,

"A little dispute over money got escalated, and he took the handgun out and shot the victim," Fitzpatrick said.

Mack, of 983 Uniondale Ave., is scheduled to go back to court Tuesday. He was being represented by Legal Aid.

There was also an arrest warrant for Kelvin Mack in connection with a domestic violence incident in New Cassel, police said.

He waived extradition, Fitzpatrick said, and was brought back to Nassau. He also was being held in jail on two misdemeanor assault charges, according to online court records.

It was not clear if Kelvin Mack had an attorney.
