A 72-year-old pedestrian died Thursday after he was struck by a car while crossing a Great Neck street, police said.

Jamshicm Asnadi-Moghadam, of Great Neck, was crossing in front of 170 Great Neck Rd. at 5:35 p.m. when he was struck by a 2003 Toyota Camry, Nassau police said.

Asnadi-Moghadam was taken by police ambulance to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset where he was pronounced dead at 8:10 p.m., police said.

Sixth Squad detectives who impounded the car for brake and safety inspections said there was no apparent criminality involved in the accident.
