Man robbed at gunpoint in Valley Stream
A 20-year-old man was robbed by a man with a silver handgun on a street in Valley Stream early Thursday, Nassau County police said.
Police said the victim was walking along South Montgomery Street at about 3 a.m. when he was approached by the gunman, who then rifled the man's pockets, stealing his cellphone, iPod and cash.
The victim was uninjured, police said.
After the robbery, the gunman fled in a vehicle north on South Montgomery. Police said it was not immediately clear what kind of vehicle was involved in the incident.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
