Two thieves held a man at gunpoint in Uniondale early Sunday morning, stealing his wallet and netting $400 in cash, Nassau police said.

At about 5:50 a.m., a 21-year-old man got out of a taxi on Union Drive and began walking down the street, when he was approached by two men and ordered to lay on the ground, police said.

One of the thieves took the man's wallet from his pants pocket, while the other thief displayed a black handgun and demanded the PIN for the man's debit card, police said. The man complied and the thieves fled. No arrests have been made.

Police said $400 was later withdrawn from the victim's account using the stolen debit card. The victim suffered scrapes to his face, but refused medical attention.

Police said anyone with information could call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477.
