Man robs Inwood MoneyGram business
A man wearing a mask jumped through a cashier window at a business in Inwood that sells MoneyGrams, hit a clerk in the face and stole an undisclosed amount of cash on Friday, Nassau County police said.
The robbery occurred at Jeymar USA Corp., 131 Doughty Blvd., at about 11:20 a.m.
The suspect held a black plastic bag in his right hand and simulated that he had a gun, police said.
He jumped through the window and took the cash. He also struck a 53-year-old clerk in the face, bruising her right cheek. She was treated at the scene, police said.
The suspect is in his 30s, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds, police said. He was wearing a black winter hat, black mask, black canvas jacket, black pants and tan work boots, police said. He was last seen headed west on Morris Avenue.
Fourth Squad detectives ask that anyone with information about the robbery to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
