Man robs Valley Stream bank, say cops
Police are looking for a man they said robbed a Valley Stream bank Thursday afternoon.
About 2 p.m., Nassau police said a thin, tall man in his 20s wearing a dark sweatshirt, dark jeans and a New York Yankees baseball cap entered the Roslyn Savings Bank at 75 N. Central Ave. and gave a note to the teller demanding cash.
The teller handed over an undetermined amount of money, and the suspect fled north on foot, then got into a dark-colored car that went east on Rose Street.
No injuries were reported in the robbery. Police said there were five employees and no customers in the bank during the robbery.
Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
