Man shot by would-be robber in Roosevelt
A man who told a gun-wielding attacker Monday in Roosevelt that he didn't have any money was shot twice, Nassau County police said.
The victim, 38, was walking east on Fulton Avenue at about 8:20 p.m. when he was approached by another man, who was armed with a silver handgun, police said.
The gunman asked the victim for money, police said. When the victim said he did not have any, the gunman fired two shots, striking the victim in arm and the buttock.
The victim walked to Babylon Turnpike and notified police; a Nassau County police ambulance took him to a hospital for treatment, police said.
Anyone with information on the shooting can call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
