Man shot in the chest in Hempstead

A 24-year-old man was in stable condition after he was shot in the chest Saturday night in Hempstead, Nassau County police said Sunday.

About 10:10 p.m. Saturday, police said they were called to 62 Henry St., where a man was shot outside the house. Police took the man to a hospital. There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing, according to a police spokeswoman.
