A man was shot about a block from an elementary school in Uniondale Wednesday afternoon, and Nassau police are on the hunt for suspects.

Police said they got a call about shots being fired about 2:30 p.m. and found the man suffering from a minor gunshot wound near Davis and Clinton avenues. The victim was taken to a hospital and treated, police said.

In the meantime, Northern Parkway School, on Northern Parkway and Davis Avenue, was locked down for about an hour while police responded to investigate.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting can call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477.
