Man shot, robbed as he tries to flee attackers in Uniondale

Nassau County police are looking for three men who shot and robbed a man in Uniondale Wednesday night.

The three men assaulted a pedestrian on Argyle Avenue around 10:35 p.m., police said, pushing and punching him and reaching into his pockets.

When the victim broke free and ran, police said one of the three men fired two gunshots. The victim was struck in the leg, and the men took his wallet, which had an unspecified amount of cash and credit cards.

Police said the men fled west on Argyle Avenue, north on Mildred Place and then west on Stanton Boulevard.

Police said the victim had a broken thighbone and was taken to a hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
