Man sought in chain saw theft

Crime Stoppers and Nassau County police released photographs Tuesday of a man suspected of stealing a chain saw from a Hempstead home-improvement store earlier this month.
At about 9:15 a.m. on Sept. 7, the suspect entered the Home Depot at 172 Fulton Ave., took an 18-inch Echo chain saw and left the store without paying, police said in a news release.
Photographs of the suspect were taken from video surveillance at the store.
Such chain saws cost between $299 and $379, according to the store's website.
