A man was stabbed in Elmont early Sunday, in a robbery attempt that Nassau police are investigating.
Fifth Squad detectives said four men approached the 31-year-old victim as he left Moments Cafe, 784 Elmont Rd., shortly after 3 a.m., and demanded he turn over undisclosed items.
The man refused and after a scuffle he managed to hold onto his belongings. Just before the four assailants left, the victim was stabbed in his upper chest.
After being taken to a hospital by "a person unknown to the victim," police said the man's wound was closed with six sutures. Hospital staff notified police of the stabbing.
