The driver of a Ford Excursion reportedly had a medical emergency while traveling west on Sunrise Highway near Seaford Avenue and went off the road on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, crashing into a dinette business. Credit: Paul Mazza

A man who suffered a seizure while driving crashed into a furniture store in Massapequa on Wednesday evening, Nassau police said.

Police said the 53-year-old driver, who was not identified, was heading west on Sunrise Highway in a 2003 Ford Excursion when he had a seizure and careened into Dinette Plus, causing damage to the storefront.

One employee was present at the time of the accident, but was not hurt, police said. The driver was taken to a hospital to be treated.
