After three men robbed him of his wallet in Roosevelt Wednesday afternoon, a 50-year-old victim did a little police work of his own, detectives said.

He followed the three around the corner, watched as they entered a residence, then called police, according to First Squad detectives.

As a result, Christopher Hambrite, 20, and Clifford Fowler, 21, both of 2 William St. in Roosevelt, were arrested on robbery charges, Nassau County police said. The third suspect was not apprehended, police said.

The victim was walking at the intersection of Lakewood and Anna avenues at about 12:50 p.m. when the three allegedly went through his pockets and took his wallet, police said.

The three fled on foot, police said, and the victim, who was not hurt, followed them to the next block.

Police recovered the wallet.

Hambrite and Fowler are charged with robbery and were scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
